FL-Junior Award Ceremony

A three-figured number of people attended the FL-junior award ceremony in Alta’s high street this morning. The winners as well as the other participants were praised for their performances.

Ronja Persson and her dog Jack finished 3rd and were the first to enter the podium. Maria Jøraholmen and her dog Masi finished 2nd and came next. Ole Henrik and Max finally entered the winner’s stand on the podium. Medals and prizes were awarded by Alta Mayor Monica Nielsen.

The main prize for the FL-junior winner was one yer’s estimated consumption of dog food for a 6-dog team. Holds a value of NOK 42,000 (USD 4,800). The silver medalist received Appetitt dog food worth NOK 15,000 (USD 1,700), whereas the bronze medalist recived dog food for NOK 10,000 (USD 1,100). The medals awarded are made out of slate and have been made by local producer Peskatun. The remaining participants received gift cards from the Finnmark Race merchandise shop.

After the award ceremony, the FL-junior mushers could enjoy a pizza banquet at Scandic Hotel Alta together with a selection of guests.
