Niklas Rogne (27 years old) came second in the Finnmarksløpet 1200 and also secured gold in the Norwegian championship dog sledding open class.

The 1200 class has been very demanding this year, and Niklas has had to measure his strength with none other than dog sledging legend Roger Dahl (72 years ) who with Saturday’s finish has completed 28 Finnmark races.

Niklas Rogne and Roger Dahl have both been part of the lead for large parts of the race, before Niklas proved to be the fastest of the two on the stages from Karasjok to Alta. Niklas crossed the finish line at 03.51 on Saturday 16.03.

Roger Dahl crossed the finish line 40 minutes after Niklas to a 3rd place in the Finnmarksløpet 1200 and silver in the NM.

The next one we are waiting for is fourth place in the Finnmarksløpet. It has also not been decided who will get bronze in the National Championships.
