WHERE TO DELIVER THE DEPOTBAGS

The musher has to deliver his/her depotbags at Alta Strand Camping  Thursday 10'th  March 08.00 (am) to 15.00 (3pm).

The bags must be put in the defined places on the truck and trailer which is parked on the parkinglot.  On the truck and trailer there will be defined different rooms for each of the checkpoints. Pay close attention so that your bags are put in the right room for the right checkpoint.

Carefully mark all your bags with the right name.

 

It is the responsibility of the musher to put the depotbags in the right rooms on the truck, trailer and pick-up.

        HOW TO MARK AND PACK YOU EQUIPMENT.

You must pack your dogfood and equipment in the best possible manner.  Use solid bags, burlap or nylon bags. These have shown to be the most solid ones and you can write the your full name and the name of the checkpoint on the bag. Our experience with plastic or paper bags is that they tend to break. We do not recommend these types of bags. If you are using coolers these must be of a type that will withstand some rough handling.

Finnmarksløpet takes no responsibility for bags sloppy packed and marked. They may end up everywhere but at the right checkpoint.

 

MARK ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT WITH YOUR FULL NAME AND NAME OF THE CHECKPOINT.

Notice that there is about 35 to 40 tons of dogfood and equipment that is transported out on the truck and trailer, so pack and mark your depotbags properly. You are not allowed to send any kind of flammable gas or liquid in your depotbags or put it on the truck or trailer.

 

DISTRIBUTION OF STRAWS FOR EACH MUSHER.

Each team in open class will get a whole bail of straw (about 26 kg) at each checkpoint. The limited teams will get half a bail (about 13 kg) at each checkpoint.  At Levajok and Karasjok the limited teams will also get a whole bail of straw.

 

THE DEADLINE FOR DELIVERING DEPOTBAGS IS THURSDAY 10'th MARCH  AT 1500. (3 PM). NO EXCEPTION WILL BE GIVEN FROM THIS TIME.
