Important information about tickets for the banquets
Mushers and one handler get one ticket each to the start-banquet. Tickets are found inside the info-folder that is handed out at the Registration-office when you register.
"Standing Banquet" - Rica Hotel Alta, Tuesday March 16th 19:00-20:30 (500 km-banquet): Musher and one handler have free entrance. If the musher wants to bring more handlers they have to buy extra tickets. Tickets are bought at the Headquarter, in the city centre, from Monday March 15th until Tuesday March 16th at 2 PM.
CLOSING BANQUET - Rica Hotel Alta, Saturday March 20th 19:00: Mushers in 1000 km-race and one handler have free entrance. Mushers in 500 km-race have free entrance. All handlers in 500-km race have to buy tickets. Tickets are bought at the Headquarter, in the city centre, from Thursday March 18th until Friday March 19th at 9 PM.
From Monday March 8th
Alta city centre
The Headquarter of Finnmarkslopet is located in "Kunnskapsparken" from March 8th until Sundayday March 21th. Registration-office, Race-Office, Race-Cafe, press center, secretarial and sales of Finnmarkslopets profile products.
The Registration-office will be open from Tuesday March 9th for delivering mandatory lists, check of veterinary papers and for controlling and weighing of the mandatory extra-food for the dogs.
The registration will be closed after Thursday March 11th at 2 PM.
- Maps with the trail drawn on will be available at the office.

There will be a control of the dogs' entry date to Norway and vaccination papers with proof of rabies and ecinoccose-treatment. We therefore ask all mushers to pay special attention to the requirements listed on the veterinary pages. This is particularly important for the foreign mushers. For more information look up the vet pages!
For Norwegian mushers: vaccination papers and matching chip number on the dog-list will be controlled at the race office
Thursday March 11th
Between: 09:00 - 15:00 at ALTA STRAND CAMPING - food drop
Handing in of the food drop bags. Every bag must be placed on the back of the trailer by the musher or his/her helpers. Bags left on the ground will not be carried out! The trailers leave Alta on Thursday at 15:00, three o'clock.

Between: 09:00 - 15:00 at ALTA STRAND CAMPING - pre-race check of dogs.

12:00 - 14:30. Alta Kultursal - Høgskolen i Finnmark: Information for rookies -mandatory!
15:00 - 18:30. Alta Kultursal - Høgskolen i Finnmark: Musher's info meeting - mandatory! All mushers must meet, plus at least one handler per team.
19:00. Alta City Centre - Borealis festival.
Opening ceremony for the Borealis festival - remember neat and clean musher outfits.
Mandatory for all mushers.
Friday March 12th
Between: 09:00 - 16:00 at ALTA STRAND CAMPING - pre-race check of dogs.

16:45 - 20:00. Start banquet. Rica Hotel Alta - MEET ON TIME!
Bibnumbers, entertainment, presentation of sponsors and mushers, dinner etc.
Free entrance for mushers + 1 handler (if a musher wants to bring more than one handler, they will have to by tickets)
Others who want to take part can buy a ticket at the Headquarter, in the city-centre.
Entrance fee for others NOK 350,-. Tickets must be bought by Thursday March 11th at 2.00 PM.
PS! All persons, also mushers and handlers, have to show valid tickets at the entrance in order to enter banquets and ceremonies! Persons not holding a ticket will not get in.
Saturday March 13th
08:00 - 09:00. Alta Rica Hotel, Alta city centre
The start-area opens to the mushers and their vehicles with dogs at 08:00 and will close at 09:00. MEET ON TIME!
Remember that the teams racing in the 1000 km class may get a passenger from the start to the re-start, so do bring a sled that is suitable. PS! Limitations abide to start with only 10 dogs in the 14-dogs class. The rest of the dogs are added at the re-start.
For the 8-dog teams there will be a check of all the mandatory equipment before start.

Start for the first team in Finnmarksløpet 2010
The 8-dog class will start first. The 14-dog class will bring a guest from start to re-start at Sorrisniva, Øvre Alta.

Re-start for the 1000 km class in Finnmarksløpet 2010
The mandatory equipment of all teams in the 14-dog class will be controlled when they arrive the re-start area.
Monday March 15th
Downtown Alta - pedestrian area: The first teams in the 500 km class cross the finish line in Alta some time during the afternoon.
Tuesday March 16th
18:00. Downtown Alta - pedestrian area:
WINNER CEREMONY FOR THE 8-DOG CLASS FINNMARKSLØPET 2010.
PS! All mushers who started and have arrived in Alta must attend!
19:00 - 20:30. "Banquet" - Rica Hotel Alta
A so-called "standing banquet" with a short program and refreshments.

Volunteers and others who want to take part can buy tickets at the Headquarter in the city centre. Tickets must be bought by Tuesday March 16th before 2.00 PM.
Price: NOK 250,-
NOTE! Everyone must show a valid ticket at the entrance to all banquets. People without a ticket, will not let in. See information about tickets for musher and one handler at the top of this page. All tickets are personalized, meaning that tickets can not be transferred to others. Those who have tickets to the banquets must use these.

Downtown Alta - pedestrian area: Winner of Finnmarksløpet 1000 km crosses the finish line.
