Signing up Finnmarksløpet 2011

Demands to fulfill

To be allowed to start in the 1000 km Finnmarksløpet you have to fulfill at least one of the following demands:

1. Having accomplished an earlier Finnmarksløp.

2. Having accomplished a"Non - stop" sled dog race as long as 400 km or longer.

There are no similar demands to be fullfilled to the 8 - dog class.

Entry

Mushers who are registered before September 18. 24:00 (e-mail, date, hour), will take part in a drawing for the first start positions in Finnmarksløpet 2011. 

REGISTRATION FORM FOR ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION

Otherwise, the limit for registration is as soon as possible and no later than Dec. 1'st 2010 - the deadline.

The registration is accepted when a properly filled in registration form with an extencive presentation and a picture are mailed by e-mail or post stamped no later than December 1'th 2010.

Drawing of the start positions for mushers registered between the Sept. 18 and Dec. 1'th will be done in connection to the Race.

Among the mushers having an accepted registration before deadline Des 1'Th, one will be chosen by drawing lots to get free entry.

Entries accepted between Des. 1'th 2010 and Feb. 15'th, will be drawn for start positions as a third group.

 

Entry fee

Open class: NOK 8.000,-
8-dog class: NOK 4.500,-

NB NOK 1000 - must be paid upon registration. This is considered to be a registration fee and will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.

Deadline for paying the rest of the entry fee (NOK 7.000- in 1000 km, NOK 3.500- in 500 km) is February 15'th 2011, 23.59 o'clock. NB!Those who have not paid in time, is not considered to be registered for the race.

Refund of registration fee
The registration fee will only be refunded upon production of a veterinary or medical certificate dated no later than the day prior to race start. The certificate must be received by the organisers no later than 14 days after the date on which the race commences.

Veterinary/medical certificate should be sent via post to: Finnmarksløpet AS, postboks 1248, 9504 ALTA, Norway.

The fee covers the service at all checkpoints, the startbanquet, the prixbanquet (minus drinks) plus straw and transport of depots/ food drops.

The mushers have the right to invite one of its handlers for free to the startbanquet and the prixbanquet.

For the 500 km mushers it means the startbanquet (Friday) and the 500 km-banquet (Tuesday).
To the 1000 km-banquet (Saturday) the 500km mushers have to buy ticket for themselves and handlers or others.

When all the formalities are put in order; picture, payment and information, you will be presented on our web site with links to your own website the website of your sponsors and e-mail address.

The payment of the start certificate to NHF (Norwegian Sled dog Association) may be done in the info-kiosk before the mushers meeting.
